Along with their on-line dating service, Kim and Linda desire to connect people thru different events. One of those events is the re-creation of the popular TV show “The Dating Game”. We brought our cameras on location to a church in Naperville, IL. and captured the event… Here’s the Dating Game in living color.

Never before has there been such a spread of apostasy in the Christian Church, such a gross turning away from the true Gospel of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Some televangelist spread the word in such a sweet fashion, but if you are not rooted in the Gospel, you may be lead astray by comforting words or led to believe that Christ is there just to provide your every "want" in life or he is even here just to make you… Rich!! I heard a guy speaking on the radio a few days ago, he said "every time we sin we must go back, repent and be baptized, so that we can have a fresh start"..uh!?! I guess we would need to have a baptism pool installed in our back yards, because we sin every day sometimes without knowing. The simplicity of the Gospel is that we are saved by Grace not by works. We do not work our way to heaven, it is a free gift from God!

Ephesians 2:8
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

2 Timothy 1:9
"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,"

"if another gospel is preached, men and women cannot be saved. At it’s heart, the Christian faith is about abandoning your own attempts to save yourself and accepting the finished work of Christ. If we preach another gospel, a gospel by which men and women, boys and girls cannot be saved, we do an unspeakably vile thing. We condemn people to a lost eternity because we preach a false faith that cannot save. It is a fearful thing to preach another gospel because it is a fearful thing to encourage others to trust a message that cannot save. " - Shawn Abigail

Although the rise of apostasy was promised to happen shortly before Christ return, how do we as Christians handle these false messengers who try to complicate the simplicity of the Gospel, and in turn, changes the message and take away from the work of grace in Christ? Christianity at its heart, encourages us to get along with our brothers and sisters in charity and grace but, there are just some things that we cannot compromise, we cannot compromise the gospel of Christ. Galations says these messengers should be accursed!

"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." Galation1:8,9

These may seem like harsh words but, that’s how serious we should look at the Gospel of Christ. We should not let these messengers into our homes, lest we be tricked into believing another gospel! Some of them are already there by the way of television, therefore, we should choose our programs wisely and do not neglect the reading of the Bible and the fellowship with believers, so that our discernment may be strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

Iceland – Reykjahlíð

The small village of Reykjahlíðis situated on the shores of Lake Mývatn in the north of Iceland. During the fires caused by the eruption of the nearby volcano Krafla in 1729, the village was destroyed by a lava stream. However, the inhabitants were saved when the lava flow stopped in front of the village church on higher ground, allegedly as the result of the prayers of the village priest. The ruins of the church is still there transformed in a cemetery. The present church dates from 1972.

This illuminated manuscript is a document of the first importance in the history of Dutch manuscript illumination, and it contains an important medieval Dutch devotional text. The Tafel van den Kersten Ghelove is a compendium of Christian knowledge written by a learned Dominican, Dirc van Delf. The text is in two parts, one for winter, and one for summer. This manuscript is of the winter part, and it is incomplete, omitting the prologue and chapters 13,14, and 35-72. The arms of the Bavarian Counts of Holland and the kneeling owner on fol. 1 indicate that this manuscript was the actual copy prepared for the dedicatee of the text, Albrecht of Bavaria, Count of Holland, from the original text of his chaplain, and is therefore to be dated to 1404 at the latest, when Albrecht died. The manuscript consists of 165 folios and contains 35 historiated initials.

Title: The St. Thomas Young Women’s Christian Association’s Project Renewal campaign for 9,000 was progressing well in April 1972. Pictured at a review of the planning to date were: Mrs. John Le Frank, vice-president of the YWCA; Mrs. Pat Buckland, chairman of individual calls; Mrs. G. W. Trevithick, chairman of Y family canvass; Miss Kay Freeman, chairman of the building committee and Miss Florence Bucke, co-chairman of the national firms committee. The 9,000 was being sought for renovation of the YWCA premises at 16 Mary Street. It was the organization’s first capital funds appeal since 1929.

Mitsumune’s Mausoleum

The Sankei-den houses the mausoleum of Date Mitsumune. The interior is a lavish display much like the tomb of Megohime found down the path at Zuigan-ji. Mitsumune was the son of Tadamune, and also the great-grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu. He died at the young age of 19. Some believe he was poisoned because he was a danger to the power of the Tokugawa.

Built in 1646 by Date Tadamune (1599-1658), Entsu-in is a Buddhist temple in Matsushima honoring his son, Mitsumune (1627-1645), who died at an early age. The temple includes a mausoleum as well as a rose garden and famous rock garden. The temple is also known for hidden Christian symbolism seen throughout the grounds.
